Epiphone
12-String
I've had this
guitar since I was 19. It was $175 brand new. It's got one of the smallest necks I've ever
seen on a 12-string which makes it fairly easy to play. |

Martin DM-12
12-String
This guitar actually told me it was mine, and that it sounded better
than the two other DM-12's in the store. It did. Despite my protests
it insisted on coming home with me. It hasn't spoken to me since, and I've
changed allergy medications. |

Fender Precision Lite Bass
This is a wonderful bass.
It's smaller than the standard Precision or Jazz, which suits me fine since I'm only 5'
7". My friend Jeff (who is still smarting from getting me the Strat - see below!) is
trying to convince me I really don't like it. Sorry, guy. It stays here. |

Martin 000-1R
I was in a music store with
a friend who was going to buy a guitar. I picked this one off the rack, played one C chord
on it, and said "This is MY guitar". It seemed pretty spontaneous at the time,
but I'd just spent a couple years convincing myself I deserved a Martin. |

1962 Reissue Fender Stratocaster
It took me thirty years to
find the Right Guitar, and this is it. The former owner only wanted $400 for it. My friend
Jeff (who plays a wonderful lead on the Fond Abusers CD) acted as intermediary for the
owner who he works with. I said "Just bring it over and I'll write the check"
and he said "Well you have to at least see it and play it". So I played one
chord on it (I think there's a pattern here...) and wrote the check. This
summer (2002) I put a set of Kinman pickups in it which are
amazing. Check out http://www.kinman.com!

1972 Les
Paul Custom
I got the Les Paul in 1977 for $400 (whoa, another pattern...).
It had been painted white and part of the serial number taped
over to pass it off as a "vintage" '50's model! And
ironically now it IS a vintage model. |

2004 Rickenbacker
360
What's a pop band without a Ric? Van Go is a pop band and we didn't have one.
We do now. |

Bean Blossom
Electric Mandolin
When I joined Van Go, they asked if I played mandolin and I said not yet.
I do now. This one isn't a great instrument, but it gets the job done and sounds
real nice through the clean channel on the Bogner (below). |

Bogner Shiva
Jeff does it again. Suffering from GAS(Gear
Aquisition Syndrome), the man has a constant parade of stuff coming through his house.
And so it was I met the Shiva, the amp to end all amps. Nothing compares.

Mesa Boogie Studio Caliber DC-2
Found this neat little guy in pawn shop for
a steal! Great little amp. It is currently part of the Van Go Army of Guitar Amps.

Marshall VS230 Valvestate
Music Man 210-Sixty Five
I got the Music Man in 1980. I
put two Celestions in and it really sparkles. It sees a lot of use in the band.
At one time I actually liked the little Marshall, but now it just waits for me
to get around to selling it.
